Running a business as a uni student

It can be expensive to study at university and many students need to get a job to help support them. However, it can be just as lucrative to run your own business and it can be a great way to boost your resume. There are many inspiring stories of university students who have put their classroom studies into practice and launched successful businesses whilst still studying. This blog has some profiles of successful businesses started by students as well as some articles on identifying businesses that can be run by a student. I hope it's inspiring to a new generation of business owners.

5 Reasons to Install a Jet Ski Dock

If you own a jet ski and your own water access, then the next logical step is to invest in a jet ski dock.

1. Hull Protection

Leaving a jet ski in the water all the time can be exceptionally tough on the vehicle. The hull is protected from barnacles, shellfish, and marine plant growth, as well as from mould and other damages inflicted from spending days in the water. Since you are not constantly relaunching or loading onto a trailer, there is also a lesser risk of scratches and finish damage. Overall, a dedicated dock can extend the working life and the appearance of your jet ski.

2. Easier Launching

It's much easier to launch your jet ski off a dedicated jet ski dock as opposed to trying to load it into the water and then climbing aboard. You can simply step down onto the vehicle and then lower it into the water and go. The opposite is also true—it is easier to load the jet ski onto a trailer from a dock when you are ready to move it to a new location or take it in for servicing.

3. Dock Protection

Trying to load and launch a jet ski off a boat or fishing dock is also hard on the dock itself. The weight of the jet ski can gouge and damage dock boards. The jet ski also gets water everywhere when you raise it onto the dock for loading, and repeated water exposure on the dock decking means more frequent maintenance to keep it in good condition.

4. Multiple Storage Options

You have a few choices for jet ski docks, but most models are designed to attach to any existing dock structure you may already have. Drive on docks can hold multiple jet skis, and you simply drive the jet ski on and off the floating plastic dock bay at will. Lift style docks sit in the water until you drive onto it, and then it lifts the ski above the water. These are good in areas with tidal forces, but each dock can only hold one jet ski.

5. More Convenience

Finally, never overlook the convenience of having a dedicated jet ski dock. It's more convenient to mount and dismount the jet ski, to get it in the water, and even to service the vehicle. More convenience means more time available to spend out on the water.
